Easy to Make Heart-Shaped Valentine Cake
It is easy to make a heart-shaped cake for Valentine’s Day. There are special heart-shaped cake pans on the market, but they are unnecessary. A cute valentine cake can be made with simply a square cake pan and a round cake pan, if they have the same diameter. Most kitchen cabinets are equipped with an eight or nine inch round cake pan, and an eight or nine inch square cake pan. These are all that are needed to create a heart-shaped cake.
The cake needs a large round or square platter to sit on. A round plate of fifteen inches in diameter can be used. An alternative can be made by covering a square or round piece of cardboard with aluminum foil for a home made cake platter.
The cake itself can be made from any cake mix. A pink flavor such as strawberry fit’s the color scheme found in most Valentine Day decorating. Some cake mixes come in a multi-colored version called confetti or something similar which would make a festive cake for a party. A white cake would also look nice in the midst of Valentine’s Day décor.
