If you are looking to find great chocolates there is little that can stand up to local regional shops. Whenever I go on vacation anywhere I always try to see if there are any local chocolate maker that can make great custom chocolate gifts or chocolate truffles for me. Many times these shops will have unique custom combinations that can provide a whole new taste experience. Whether you are in Chicago or Bern, there is bound to be someone in the city that can make you a unique chocolate gifts or treat for yourself or your family waiting at home.
Often times I will simply let the shop decide what to put in the package, but if you can like I said earlier find out what their true specialty is. After that see if there is anything regional that you can go with to make the chocolates memorable.
